Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Australia’s development is being “choked” by identity politics.
“A project in Victoria … simply building 100 kilometres of bike tracks in the Yarra ranges, in forests near Warburton mountain,” he said.
“Eight years ago, a feasibility study was done for this network of paths, and then the Yarra Ranges Council and the
Victorian government’s bureaucracy got to work.
“There is still not one metre of bike track yet built after eight years, and when you read the Yarra Ranges Council reports you’ll soon work out why.”
Mr Bolt pointed out over 12 months went into detailed technical studies for an Environment Effects Statement, and yet that was “still not enough”.
“Enter Victoria’s Gender Equity Commission,” he said.
“Victoria’s Gender Equity Commission is now undertaking – has been for a while – a gender impact assessment of this bike path.
“When this country is so slow to move, watch out, we will be run over.”
