Liverpool have been quite busy in the transfer market this summer, with three new signings already through the door.
The Reds have added Fabio Carvalho, Darwin Nunez and Calvin Ramsay to their squad for the upcoming campaign. Each of the trio will officially become Liverpool players on July 1, after each signing long-term contracts with the club.
Nunez has taken the number 27 shirt, which was previously worn by Divock Origi. The Belgium international is set to leave the club this summer as a free agent when his contract expires.
Liverpool’s newest recruit Ramsay has been assigned the number 22 shirt. That jersey was previously worn by goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who left to join Club Brugge in 2019.
The only player currently without a shirt number is Carvalho, who will likely receive it when he officially joins the club next month. There are plenty of numbers still available to Carvalho and any other potential new additions.
The number 2 shirt remains vacant since Nathaniel Clyne’s departure.
With Sadio Mane set to leave for Bayern Munich, the number 10 shirt is likely to be available this summer for the first time since January 2018 when Philippe Coutinho left the club.
The number 16 shirt became available last summer when Marko Gruijc joined Porto on a permanent transfer.
Despite Ozan Kabak wearing the number 19 shirt for a brief period during his loan spell, it is still vacant after Mane switched to number 10 in 2018.
Number 24 is still vacant after Rhian Brewster joined Sheffield United last year.
Also available is the number 25 shirt, with Cameron Brannagan technically the last player to hold it, whilst Pepe Reina wore it from 2005-2013.
Numbers 29 , 30 and 31 are all vacant as Dominic Solanke last wore 29, with 30 and 31 last worn by Raheem Sterling and Suso respectively.
And a selection of higher numbers are free for any potential other new signings should Liverpool spring a surprise on us all.
