Assistant Minister for Energy, Industry and Emissions Reduction Tim Wilson says modelling for achieving net zero by 2050 will be released before the next federal budget.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Tuesday announced he will take a net zero by 2050 plan to Glasgow for COP26.
The government however hasn’t given a timeframe of when it will release its modelling for achieving the target.
“The prime minister has outlined it will be released before the next budget,” Mr Wilson told Sky News Australia.
“The modelling backs up the plan. We have a 130 page plan which takes Australians step-by-step through it.
“Frankly, we look at other political parties like the Labor Party, they have a target but no plan, they don’t even have a 2030 target.”
