NSW One Nation Leader Mark Latham says Prime Minister Scott Morrison is attempting to “give the illusion” the transition to net zero will not be costly.
“Well, someone’s got to pay, there’s no free lunch here, now Morrison is very much poll driven, he’s not really a leader, he’s a follower, he follows the polls,” Mr Latham told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“Morrison is saying I’ve got a posture, I’ve got a position, which is net zero by 2050, and he’s trying to give the illusion it’s going to be cost free, no one’s actually going to pay for it.
“There is a cost; don’t be deluded; you know, in an era where the Liberal’s rack up enormous debt, I suppose they’re just [leaving] it up to your grandchildren, my grandchildren, generations in the future, and that’s the saddest part of the lie.
“Our grandkids are going to pay massive amounts, billions of dollars in refunded debt, all for a policy that was about politics.”
