You could get paid £320 a day to ride on ‘luxury’ train

With the new year just beginning, many people are on the lookout for a new job.

A unique job, a world away from a desk job, has become available for the right candidate.

A steward/stewardess position has been advertised, which would give a lucky person a chance to board a luxury train and earn between “£250 to £320 per day.”

Advertised by Northern Belle Limited, this full-time, permanent position is perfect for those who are prepared to work varied hours and away from home.

The Northern Belle is described as “England’s most luxurious train”, built in 2000 by the Orient Express company, in the style of the world’s most famous train.

Guests are whisked away onboard seven carriages, given fine dining experiences as they visit popular destinations such as the mountains and Lochs of Scotland and the UK countryside.

The job advert said: “We are seeking to recruit people with a background in high end hospitality, airline, train, restaurant or hotel experience at different levels.

“The successful candidates will be part of our exciting team who deliver a luxury vintage fine dining train experience to over 18,000 passengers a year.

“What we are looking for: Looking for people with experience in high end hospitality, however we are happy to train and invest in people with potential and a positive attitude.”

So what roles are on offer?

Contracted Stewards/Waiters/Waitresses with a salary of up to £250 per day.

Seasoned professionals required to serve guests in a fashion to “which they are accustomed”. Those wishing to apply would be contracted to work a minimum number of trips per year (including prep days). Staff must be available for a series of trips, sleeping on-board the Belle when multiple trips are running.

Contracted Lead Stewards/Waiters/Waitresses with a salary of up to £320 per day.

Same as the above but these employees must also have the ability to manage a small team of stewards/stewardesses.

Top responsibilities include opening and pouring of wine and champagne, advising guests of premium alcohol and suggesting the perfect pairing with food as well as introducing yourself to guests and tables and assisting the the preparation of all on board bar bills.
